Pallet Regulations

Essential compliance information for export requirements, food safety standards, and workplace regulations.

ISPM 15 International Standards

International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15 governs wood packaging materials in international trade.

What is ISPM 15?

ISPM 15 is an international phytosanitary measure that directly addresses the need to treat wood packaging materials to reduce the risk of introducing and spreading quarantine pests.

Required for:

  • • All wood packaging materials over 6mm thick
  • • International shipments and exports
  • • Pallets, crates, and dunnage
  • • Any solid wood packaging

Treatment Methods

Heat Treatment (HT)

Wood is heated to minimum 56°C for minimum 30 minutes throughout the entire profile of the wood.

Methyl Bromide (MB)

Fumigation treatment using methyl bromide gas (being phased out in many countries).

ISPM 15 Marking
